The Hideout takes pride in excellent horses and believes in Authentic Horsemanship & Authentic Horses. While most of our horses are Quarter Horses with some carrying excellent bloodlines, we also have a string of Mustangs.

Authentic Horsemanship is a culture that believes that much like people, all horses and breeds have the potential to become excellent partners and mounts. As a prove of this concept & culture we have 5 mustangs that came in completely wild from the range. They where started and trained in only 90 days using our low stress methods and all participated in the Extreme Mustang Makeover event in Fort Collins earlier this year.

Watch the attached video’s and see how Castro, the wild mustang started and trained by our head trainer and horseman Ramon Castro performed in the Extreme Mustang Makeover Competition. He took max. points in the combined disciplines Reining, Trail and Cattle work. Our Mustang Castro placed first in both reining and cattle work and second in trail. Remember the horse you see performing in the video’s was a wild horse from the range 90 days ago.
