Trapper Lodge (available for rent Sunday to Thursday morning)
MAIN LODGE

Trapper Guest House & Cabin
Trapper Guest House and Trapper Cabin sit just a few hundred yards behind the Trapper Lodge. Trapper Creek Lodge was originally built to be a private hunting resort and summer getaway for the owners of the Wyeth Pharmaceutical company back in 1929. Guests at Trapper Creek have included Theodore Roosevelt and Owen Wister, who spent time here working on his well-known novel, ‘The Virginian’. Prior to 1929, Ernest Hemmingway was known to visit Owen Wister at the original ranch house, which you can see from both of these accommodations!
The view hasn’t changed much; the trout fishing is still exceptional and being here is like stepping back in time one hundred years… only much more comfortable!
Although not as luxurious as The Trapper Lodge, Families with children will love The Trapper Guest house featuring 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen complete with cooking utensils and a fun sleeping loft! Perfect for fort building and playing Hide-n-Seek!
Recently remodeled, the interior of this spacious guest house has all the amenities of home. Robes, towels, toiletries and a hairdryer are included and additional housekeeping services can be arranged if you so desire. You may be coming here to get away from it all, but activities abound at Trapper Creek. It’s like being on your own thousand acre ranch in the middle of nowhere!
Whether you want high adventure or solitary bliss, your home away from home at Trapper Creek provides a perfect escape. Activities and services are available and reservations are limited so please call today.
Upper Hideout
Upper Hideout Cabins
The Upper Hideout is nestled amid a grove of tall pines up in the Big Horn Mountains located at approximately 8,400 ft elevation. It is a remote spot accessible by horseback or 4x4 vehicles after the snow pack has melted, usually in mid June. Visitors and supplies are packed in and out during the summer and fall until heavy snow accumulation.
Wildlife is abundant and streams in the nearby canyons offer good fishing. Deer graze around the compound and you can hear the coyotes howl during the night.
For your safety and in case of emergency, there is a heated helipad nearby. Helipads are also located on other areas on the property too.
There are three cabins with lofts, which are the same as The Hideout cabins at The Hideout, same bathrooms but less decorated. All cabins have porches offering breathtaking views. On clear days, you may see the Rocky Mountains, about 120 miles away.
There is a cozy central lodge called the Cook Shack which comes with a fully equipped kitchen. It contains a wood stove, arm chairs, bathrooms, and two large dining tables for hearty meals or enthusiastic card games. A roomy deck with a fine view overlooks the refreshing spring fed pond. We also keep a guitar and board games for anyone who'd care to play.
The Upper Hideout Owners / Family Lodge

This luxurious home features three very comfortable bedrooms on the lower level with two bathrooms, full laundry facilities and a cozy family room complete with rock fireplace.
The spacious mezzanine level is immediately inviting, washed in light from the multitude of windows. Log furniture adorned with colorful Pendleton pillows are cozily arranged in front of the floor to ceiling rock fireplace. This level features a large, completely stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, walk in pantry, spacious dining area with seating up to 20 and log veranda featuring comfy Adirondack rockers so one can rock the hours away while soaking up the incredible views in every direction!
