Hey fellow ranch vacations enthusiasts! Thanks for stopping by, I’m thrilled to be taking over the blog for the incredible Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch in Wyoming. Read on to get to know me!
As an expert with over a decade in the ranch vacations industry, I hope I can provide you with inspiration and answer any questions you may have about a trip to The Hideout, or indeed anything pertaining to ranch vacations.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with Gene Kilgore, ‘The world’s leading authority on ranch vacations’ – American Express – for many years, and before taking the plunge and launching my Kate Hammaren Freelance Writing & Editing in 2012, I was formerly Assistant Editor for leading equestrian magazine, Horse&Rider UK.
I had many many horsey adventures over the five years I spent at the magazine, including being invited to Kentucky to learn and write about the Kentucky horse racing scene amongst other exciting equestrian escapades!
Deciding to head off and explore the world in 2012, as an original Digital Nomad, I lived in and explored the Philippines for seven years while building my freelance business, and writing for Top50 Ranches and Ranchweb. My later travels then took me off to the U.S. and Mexico where I finally had the chance to experience real ranch life; cowgirlin’ in Montana, Wyoming and on a real Mexican rancho!
I’ve now returned permanently to the U.K., settling in South West England and when I’m not working, I love to wind down by walking, exploring, swimming, snorkeling, reading, cycling, cooking; and where possible, horse riding, learning to surf, scuba diving and enjoying the sunset with a good glass of red.
I really hope you enjoy my new adventures with the amazing Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch, come along for the ride!
