All Activities weather permitting

We encourage our guests to rent vehicles so they have the freedom to enjoy other recreational and historical attractions in the region.
We recommend Guests who book for 2 weeks at the time and are at The Hideout over the week-end, to rent a vehicle if they wish to visit the area or make trips over the week-end to visit places like Yellowstone National Park, Cody, etc.

Rentals are available through the Car Rental Companies at The Cody Airport. The Hideout can arrange for a shuttle service. For insurance reasons The Hideout cannot provide vehicles to 3th parties.

FYIs, Booking Requirements, & Cancellation Policies

• 4-Night stays run from Sunday to Thursday.
• 6-Night and 13-Night stays run from Sunday to Saturday.
• 230-pound weight limit for horseback riding.
• Hideout horses get Saturday afternoon and Sunday off (no horseback riding).
• Children's rates are for age 11 and under.
• All rates are subject to 5% WY sales tax and 15% Service Charge.
• Rates and prices subject to change until reservation secured by deposit.
• A 30% deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
• Check In is anytime after 2:00 p.m.
• Check Out by 11:00 a.m.
• Airport transfers must be made 72 hours prior to your arrival, if not an additional service fee might be charged.
• We reserve the right to refuse service to any individual who jeopardizes the health, safety and welfare of any of our guests, staff, family & community members, animals & livestock, or refuses to follow the rules we have established for your safety and welfare during your visit with us.

Trip Cancellation Insurance Recommended - Because The Hideout serves a limited number of guests, our cancellation policy is therefore somewhat more restrictive than other vacation providers. In order to protect yourself against unforeseen circumstances interfering with your Hideout vacation, we strongly suggest that you purchase trip cancellation insurance. You can use any travel insurance company you are comfortable with. As members of the Dude Ranchers Association, The Hideout recommends Travel Guard. Their toll-free number is 1-877-216-4885. Be sure to tell them DRA ref. # 43028.

Reservations, 1-5 guests:

• A 30% deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
• Deposit remains refundable up until 60 days prior to Check In date, with a penalty of $150 booking fee per person for the cancellation.
• 59 days prior to Check In date, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
• Remaining balance due 30 days prior to Check In date and is non-refundable..
** We will process the remaining balance on your credit card on file**

Group Reservations, 6+ guests:

• A 30% deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
• Deposit remains refundable up until 90 days prior to Check In date, with a penalty of $150 booking fee per person for the cancellation.
• 89 days prior to Check In date, the deposit becomes non-refundable. Remaining balance due 30 days prior to Check In date and is non-refundable.
**We will process the remaining balance on your credit card on file**
• The group cancellation policy effective as soon as 50% or more of the original group reservation cancels.

Release Agreement

The Hideout at Flitner Ranch guests are required to sign a release agreement at the time of check-in. This is mandatory and guests cannot remain on the premises without signing the release agreement (all moneys paid are non-refundable). Please feel free to read the release agreement prior to your arrival: please download the form here. Parents or legal guardians of minor children are required to sign the release agreement on their children’s behalf. Please note: minor children who are vacationing at The Hideout without their parents or legal guardians, must provide a letter written by their parents or legal guardian granting permission to the adult they are travelling with to sign on their behalf. Please direct all questions to the office.

Forest Service Generated Revenue & Fees

Most of the time during your stay at The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch you will ride on private property. However during the summer and autumn months we also ride on our public lands. Close to 50 % of the land in the State of Wyoming is owned by the government and we are privileged to operate on The National Forest and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands under our Recreational Leases. The grazing of life stock on public lands is regulated under the grazing leases of The Flitner Ranch. Approx. 10% of your Total Guest Ranch Package Income to The Hideout during the months of July through October is generated on National Forest Service lands. This 10% is taken from the total hours you stay at The Hideout from the moment you arrive to the moment your leave. Our Recreational Lease fee, which is a tax to the government, is calculated as a %.
